  • August outing

    Ladies,

Mark August 29th on your calendars for the next FLO outing! We will visit Turkeyfoot Lake at the south end of Portage Lakes in Akron for some panfishing, catfishing, and bass fishing; it's got it all! We'll get started around 6pm. If you are interested in picnicking, let me know and we'll see what we can work out ebfore we fish.

Prepare to fish from the beach area or much better yet, to wade in a bit. If you have a boat, canoe, or kayak, that's even better!

Go to Portage Lake State Park to view some pictures of the area and read about the park where will be fishing.

Click here to view a map of Turkeyfoot.

RSVP to Jamey at jitterbugjamey52@gmail.com or 330-280-4800. Hope you can make it!

  • MAY FLO OUTING -- CANCELLED

Due to weather conditions that will not be conducive to fishing, this outing has been cancelled and tentatively rescheduled for Friday, May 14th. Please contact Andrea ASAP if you plan to go on the rescheduled date.

Hello Fishin' Ladies of Ohio! We have our May outing scheduled:

This is a fly fishing only outing.

    Date: Saturday, May 8th

    Time: 9:00 AM

    Where: Neshannock Creek, Volant, PA

We will be fishing in Volant, Pennsylvania on Neshannock Creek.  If you have never been to Volant, it is very close to the Grove City OutletsA PA fishing license is required.  This is a special regulation area.
We will meet at the large parking lot that is located on the right side of the road after you cross the bridge into Volant and directly before the grist mill wheelMeet time is 9:00 A.M.  We will have lunch at a new restaurant right up the street called the Boardwalk Coney Island at around noon.  We will make the short walk to this restaurant.

The website for the Neshannock Creek Fly Shop is:  www.ncflyshop.com
On this site you will find a hatch chart, conditions and directions.  The fly shop is located right on the bank of Neshannock Creek.  It is a great place to buy gear and flies without paying tax!

If you have any questions, please feel free to email Andrea
ladyfisher4trout@yahoo.com , or call Andrea at 330-527-5137 or 330-903-0238 (cell).

Directions: take I-80 and take the Mercer Exit (15) turn right onto Rt. 19.  Follow the directions that are listed on the fly shop website to get to Volant.

This stream was just mentioned in the May/June edition of American Angler magazine on page 16.  Under "Springtime Specials".  Look at the Midatlantic listing.  It is a heavily stocked stream with a chance to catch a lunker trout over 16 inches.

If the fishing isn't good, we can always shop at the many stores in Volant.

It should be a fun day.  We hope you can join us!
